What are the requirements to become a Regional Manager of a Wal-Mart?

Believe it or not, my dream job is to be a Regional Manager of a Wal-Mart. Sounds weird, considering that takes a lot of responsibility and Wal-Mart isn't in the the best of positions right now. However, I have this assignment for my class and I have to know what are the steps towards the job of your choice. So I was curious, does anyone know the requirements of being a regional manager of a Wal-Mart. It'd also be nice if you could share your Regional Manager experience with me too.

I worked for the company for a few years. Mostly hiring from within, you would need to be an actual store manager for quite a while, then that would put you in a position to oversee the ongoings of several stores in a location - "Regional Management".

Doesn't Wal-Mart hire management positions within......and it doesn't hurt to be a illegal immigrant. Wal-Mart, which employs 1.3 million workers and is the nation's largest private-sector non-union employer, has been a lightening rod for dozens of lawsuits against it alleging wage-and-hour violations and gender discrimination. Last year, Wal-Mart was accused of allegedly hiring illegal immigrants through a contractor and underpaying those employees.

You have to have at least a 3rd grade education and try not to drool of fart too much. they'll hire anyone with a pulse. If you're just a little bit above stupid, you're in! I think you should raise the bar a little and find a company that takes better care of it's people.

If you get an answer from someone inside the company, then great. Otherwise, I'd try to get information from the job description. You might be able to find this by contacting the company, but oftentimes you can find out about jobs through postings on the company website. I'm sure www.walmart.com has a careers or employment area that you could use as a resource to get your research started.
