What possible questions are asked when you interview for a controller position in a bank? It's a second interview with CFO. I would appreciate your kind answers.

For this kind of job expect questions specific to your accounting skills. I would ask you about your knowledge of recent accounting pronouncements, such as FAS 133 derivatives accounting; your knowledge of regulatory capital and new initiatives like Basel II: your specific knowledge of the banking business like how other banks account for their securities portfolios & accounting methods now used in acquisitons. I'd ask you about your past work experience especially if it includes a major accounting firm. I'd ask how many people you supervised, in what capacity. Since a controller is a pretty senior position I'd also try to assess your people & organizational skills through loose, meandering, conversation oriented to your work experience. To brush up on banking go through web sites like www.occ.treasury.gov or for accounting go through archives at www.fasb.org This job is very technicals so brush up.

Bank should be no different than corporate. When was the last time you missed a deadline and why? What previous expiernce have you had? Why do you think your are more qualified for this job than other applicants? What do you feel you can contribute to this job? and study up on the history etc of this bank online.
