What are the best steps to take to become a police officer?

About me: I am a female I'm majoring in political science/government- (currently have a cumulative 4.0 GPA) I am thinking about enlisting into the army after graduation ( to pay back some student loans and to gain experience) I'm also a minority (half black and native american) What are my chances and what additional steps should i take in order to become a police officer?

you are a female who is half black half indian..you coud walk in with a crack pipe for your interview and get the job
