Is working at an animal shelter or at the local Humane Society is a Human Service?

I am getting my Human Services Degree in April of next year and I need work experience in a related field. Is an animal shelter assistant or working at the local Humane Society a Human Service?

yes...It is...so would volunteering @ a hospital/nursing home

yes... but i maybe if you work more with humans..lol Like a orphanage... home for the olden people.. Hospitals... ANd if it has to count for community service hours.. you cant get paid for it..
