There are a lot of women are electrical engineering. Yes, men are initmidate by women whom in the engineering field. A lot of friend are electrical engineering and they work for the government. I wouldn't let that bother you. You choose to become to electrical engineering and you are going to the best African American engineering for the company that you work for. Best Wishes!

What is your purpose? To be an Engineer that is credible or just a cheesy showboat looking for a hubby? It may not work for you.
Just a thought.

Women have brains and I tested at 97% in mechanics, but back then (1955) that was a mans job. I say it is bull to think that way especially today.

It all depends there are a lot of times where you can get a nod of acknowledgment for being a female engineer and at the same time these people (men) give you their nod of approval they feel intimidated. I just got my Mechanical Engineering degree and even the guys in my classes would acknowledge that I had the intelligence but would still push me out of the way when it came to projects. I think it mainly has to do with engineering being considered a male field and goes back to the old analogy of the boy tree club house with the sign on the side saying "no girls allowed." With certain exceptions. One man may find it sexy another intimidating and yet another may find it both. Some men think a woman with a tool-belt is sexy others don't, I'm just concerned with getting my second degree and getting a job, and of course keeping the job.

Curious with a severely over inflated ego!!!!
I know two women who are Engineers (1 - Mechanical & 1 - Electrical). Being sexy has NOTHING to do with the job!!! If you think you will get farther in the field because "YOU" think you are sexy as hell, find another field. Brains get you through this job, NOT looks. You want a job where your self proclaimed looks get you someplace, become a stripper, otherwise the real world is going to smack you square in the face......
