Is it worth it? (Certified National Pharmaceutical Representative)?
Asked by teachmeathingortwo
I would like to get into pharmaceutical sales, but I basically have no experience in business to business or outside sales and my college degree has nothing to do with healthcare. Is it worth it to take an online course/training program to become a certified pharmaceutical sales representative? Will pharmaceutical companies take that into consideration?

They might like it (I'm a rep with 14 years experience), but it's not necessary. I think I've met one person who had one in 14 years. You're better off getting some sales experience first - they value results more than the certificate. It won't hurt you, but it might not help either. Here's my site that can help your search (it's free - I made the list of links to help people who ask how to get in to the business): http://pharmajobshelp.blogspot.com/ Good luck!
