How do I get experience in Human Resources?
Asked by Danielle H
I want to go into the Human Resources field, but every position listed says one has to have at least 2 years experience. Where do I get that experience? This is a mid-life career change, so interning is not an option.

What are your current skills? One of the easiest way to gain "HR" experience is to go to work for a smaller company in the accounting or payroll office. In a small company you wear many hats, and HR ends up being one of them. Many moons ago, that is how I got my first taste of HR. It is really hard to say what you need to do, when I don't know what transferable skills you may have. Good luck
