Don't know the labor laws in Oregon, but if they're anything like the ones in Indiana, the 14-year-old can work the counter, and only the counter, no more than 8 hours a week. They cannot touch any machinery, or to my knowledge any tools, or even be near them while on the clock.

You can work there, but only like a go-fer, janitor, counter person or something that has NO powered tools or equipment...federal labor law is very strict on that...you can pump gas though...if Oregon still has that goofy law about no self serve.
