Can a massage therapist make a good living in their occupation?
Asked by peaches m
I was looking to go to school for massage but I wanted a little feedback before paying for school and then maybe not being able to find work in what I went to school for. A little feedback would be nice. Would you also be willing to receive a massage or pay for how much they ask?

Yes. My friend was a CPA and was totally burned out after 12 years. She became a massage therapist and really enjoys it. And, she makes as much as she did as a CPA!

There is good money in it especially as insurance starts paying for it. Plus you can make tips. The problem is that it is looked down upon in society, because some therapists are also hoe's.

I live in Ohio & a friend of mine went to school for that. She only did it for 3 years & realized it was practically useless, here in ohio anyway. somewhere like california u could probably make good $ at it. But i do know that her & a couple friends recently started doing "spa parties" where they go to someones house for a small group of ladies, one does mini manicures, on does massage & i think the other does mini facials. she does make good money at that. Oh, she also now has carpal tunnel in her wrists from it.

I make a great living at it. I am an animal massage therapist. Working on animals the angles are different than working on a person, and my wrists never get sore. It is very rewarding. E-mail me through Yahoo!Answers if you would like more info.
