What are things you look for in a good registration desk?
Asked by Nopenoway
I'm running a registration desk for an upcoming conference. The clients are going to be Law Enforcement Professionals. We're going to be registering them and giving them preassembled packets. We'll have the alphabet split into 4 sections and people will go to the appropriate desk to get their packets.

i think its important to have clear signs (above the desk) indicating where people are supposed to go. i have been to desks where they post that info in front of the table and i can't see them from the back of the line so i end up asking people which line is for what. this has always bugged me. having a "floater" walk around the area to greet people and answer relevant questions while people are on line is also a good idea. oh yeah, and plenty of pens. its no fun waiting on someone next to you to finish using the one pen thats left at the desk. these are all little things no one seems to think about but for your guests it will make a difference in their registration experience. good luck with your conference!
