Where is the easiest place in the country to get hired as a firefighter?

I am looking to be a firefighter and I have applied all over and can't find a job. Does anyone know of an easy place to get hired on? I'm willing to move anywhere.

Try a volunteer fire department to gain experience and show that you are truly dedicated to being a fireman. In Michigan, many cities are cutting emergency services when the budget is pressed. There have been many police and fire departments pushed to their limits of staffing in an effort to reduce costs rather than increasing taxes. By showing that you have volunteer experience, you may catch the attention of a department that is looking for a team player. Unfortunately, this will take longer to get you to your final goal.
