I want to start my own child care business but?
Asked by lela1026
I have been arrested once for failure to appear in court to answer because I had to work .I work in healthcare so leaving patients unattended would have gotten me fired. I want to be truthful to parents who ask , will this hurt my chances of being a succsessful daycare owner? Do I need to disclose this infor in the first place? Will this show ono a background check. I have always had to have a background check and none of my employers faulted me for this, but will it be different for child care?

I don't believe you have to disclose this information to parents on a voluntary basis. If they ask, I'd tell the truth though because its important that you show your honesty as you are taking care of their children. They need to be able to trust you implicitly. Explain the situation and then let them decide. Good luck, working with kids is hard work.
