I need help and info on the different types of funding that are available (loans, grants). Are there companies out there that will pay for the training in return work for them for several years? I know the military is one, but I'm too old to apply for any pilot programs.

Check into flight schools. They usually have loan programs. There are schools that have accelerated programs that are around $30K (that's on the cheap side - in fact they are probably more since it's been about 5 yrs. since I looked into this for my husband). Supposedly there is a shortage of helicopter pilots right now so that might be worth looking into. All of the major schools have loan programs. Good luck.
