what kind of requirements is needed to become a security guard?

i am thinking about pursueing a career in being a security guard, not sure in what area yet. but i just want to know what kind of requirements there are? is there any educational requirements? do i need to graduate college with a bachelor degree? or is it like a couple week technical program that i take for the certificate? any military experience needed? bootcamp? do i need to be physically big? i am only 5'6'' 160lbs. the security i meant is like working in a bar, nightclub, driving around shopping centers and department stores,malls, ect. is it a good pay job? how much an hour or what is the salary?

bars and nightclubs usually like guys that are burly. the others are generally considered unskilled -- you don't need any education past high school. the salary is not that great -- depending on where you live i would say between 10-15 dollars an hour. i used to hire security and i liked to make sure they weren't openly hostile. you don't want security that pretends they are police or think have any great power because they aren't and they don't. you are mostly hired to watch and observe and call the police in an emergency. when you interview just be like a friendly school crossing guard. friendliness was probably my biggest requirement.
