what is my new bosses message for me?
Asked by reme14u
My new promoted boss and I worked together in the hotel. I have a history of being supervisor for 12 years. When her boss is away for a week we worked on repairs that needed two personnel. She is reluctant to enforce good discipline with all staff. We have implied authority to speak to housekeepers and maintenance. I have verbally corrected wayward staff members of misconduct. I then get two emails this week saying she appreciates my work helping her with resources and all. And also states she is one step behind me. She also says she wants to handle personnel issues if thats alright and how can she learn if I am doing it all. What is my new bosses message for me?

She is politely telling you that it is her responsibility to handle those type of issues. She appreciates your help and doesn't want to offend you, but she wants to be the one correcting the staff.
