I have military, security, and environmental consulting on the resume, i know there are training academies, applications, and wait lists, just seeing if anyone has any useful info, websites, or experience

I would think that state and federal government would be your best bet...like state department of environmental protection...or perhaps a park ranger-type position with a state bureau of natural resources...or with a fish, boat or game commission. You could probably start with the state government website for the state you live in and work down from there into different agencies. One thing to be cautious of...some states require that you be a resident of that state to apply for a civil service job, which makes it tough if you're looking to relocate.
