Keep trying, don't give up. Right now, during the holidays, everyone is busy trying to make quota in retail, and now would not be the best time worrying about a position in another area. Have you tried going through a professional job search? When you post on line, you are literally competing with hundreds of other applicants who, more than likely, have experience. On line, you almost have to have an exact fit, unfortunately. However, again, I would not give up. I would continue to apply, other than on line, and seek professional help; you will find a position eventually, just keep trying and don't give up! Good Luck!

It's like trying to be an estate agent mate you need experience to get the job, but can't get experience till you get the job. Don't bother become a bus driver in London the money is good and less hours

If you want to work for a recruitment agency, you have to sell your retail skills or management skills. Indeed, each recruitment agency are specialised in specific jobs or industries. For you, you could be recruitment consultant for the retail market or senior sales jobs.
But this job is very hard and think about you really want to do and not to get out of retail at all prices....

I have to agree with one poster. Have you tried to leverage your background and skills with a recruiting agency that specializes in retail? or you can work for a retail coporate office as an in-house recruiter.
