Huh? YOU can't get paid for doing it yourself. She can request medicare, medicaid, and other social support services.... but that does NOT pay you. It would benefit her in terms of prescription medication, and potentially in-home care assistance (by a licensed in-home caretaker, NOT you).
A:
Contact your local social security / benefits office. Often there are grants and allowances available for carers.

You should not get paid. You should do it because it is the right thing to do.

Social services may be able to help. I assume you're asking for how to get the taxpayer to help subsidise your looking after grandma - not how to get her to pay you!
Good luck

Grandma could hire you as her helper - you should then report the income. If she can't afford it, she may qualify for some social services, but if you're not qualified(LPN or experienced caregiver), it is unlikely they'll pay you directly for this.

You could look into becoming a certified home health aide. Also, check with your county nursing service. If she qualifies for home care assistance, they might be able to hire you. Some people might say to do it out of the goodness of your heart, but that is a huge responsibility and if it keeps you from making ends meet because you can't work, it is beyond the call of duty. I'm sure she'd rather have you there than some stranger.

You shouldn't have too, in a way it is part of your obligation, cause without her you would of never come to be and besides one of these days you will be there and you might not be so lucky to have someone, you could be put in a nursing home and forgot en about, it happens to a lot of out seniors.

ask your parent../parents
if they told you to do this..because it is the right thing to do..
maybe they will be willing to help get you some pay..
i've cooked for people and simply been happy getting a free meal and some great company..
but obviously you can not have much free time to earn money elsewhere..
sometimes the rewards of the company.. outway the money..
maybe you can lessen your time..and earn money elsewhere..
some areas have volunteers that do this..provide "meals -on -wheels" for 2 days a week ..or a volunteer from the high school who may be considering nursing and give them a chance..to be around old people..or someone that lost their grandparents and would love to share some time to be with an older person..

I wouldn't charge my grandmother for taking care of her. If you need a full-time job to earn a living, find one in home health care or a related field. I don't think your grandmother has much in the way of income. Remember, you may be in this position one day and may not be able to pay your grandchild to help care for you.
The way you asked your question makes it sound like you would charge your grandmother. When asking a question, make yourself clear, so the people who answer know what you are asking. Perhaps you could have worded it just the way you did in your additional information.
