What are my chances of working in my city as an air traffic controller?
Asked by DC
I'm interested in becoming an air traffic controller. I have the skills it requires. I cannot move from the city of Indianapolis and wonder what my chances are of being able to get a job locally. How can I find this information?

you need special training - I suggest you ask what qualifications you need .

I don't know what your chances are, but you should keep in mind that statistics show that air traffic controller positions are EXTREMELY high stress. So if you don't deal with stress well, you might want to consider a different career.

If you have the skills and certification, also make sure that your license is up to date. Civilian Air Traffic Controllers' licensing is standardized by international agreement through ICAO
