How should I go about looking for a position in the hotel industry?
Asked by drutheta
I'm looking to relocate from Chicago. I was offered a position to enter into the management training program here in Chicago and then the position was filled. I'm 27 and can relocate anywhere. I'm a charismatic hard working guy from the Midwest, just looking for a nice place to work. I'd prefer to work in a larger city, a place with a lot of culture and opportunities. I want to make this a career and I have enough experience to know this is the right field for me. I'm writing under a friend's yahoo account. Just noticed her avatar is frowning. I always smile!

You should go ahead and apply for the position you want at every hotel that you want to work for and see what comes out of it. Sometime, if they don't have the position in Chicago, they might have an opening somewhere...

Id look on a site like Monster.com, or look at the individual hotels corporate sites like marriott.com, hyatt.com, and stuff like that. There are many opportunities in the hospitality industry. Marriott.com has a great online application system that sends you frequent e-mails of positions that are avaliable that you are qualified for.
