I'm now on my first job & want to send a resumé for part-time job. What should I write under Job Experience?
Asked by vintageprincess72
I'm still working now (and it's only my first job and it's a short-term assignment), but I want to send my resumé to get a weekend parttime job. What should I write under Job experience? (or I should leave it blank?) Is it disadvantageous to myself to let the company I'm applying for know that I am already employed elsewhere at the moment? Thanks!

Let them know. It s easier to get a job if you have one. Write in your CV Current: Date: Dec 2006 (or whatever) - now Job Title: Skills/ Tasks:

No, its a great advantage to have current work. It shows you are CHOOSING to move and apply for a better job rather than desperate for anything. try to identify aspects of your current job that would be useful to the other job. Eg are they both sales, customer service, repair, travelling..... eg: If you are in pre-sales and applying for a new presales job: In my current role i use highly transferable customer focus skills that require me to work with customers and explain details in a pre-sales environment If you work in a shop and are applying to work in a bar: My current role is a busy customer facing retail sales role. Dealing with multiple customers at the same time with a variety of queries and sales will enable me to work very effectively in a bar. Best of luck.
