Bookkeepers keep the account books for companies and they can be freelance bookkeepers who are not necessarily accountants but most nowadays are; it is an old fashioned sort of term now as no one actually keeps physical books except very old accountants An administrative assistant is the jack-of-all-trades for the boss. An accounting assistant is a helper for the accounting staff.
You did not mention this but payroll usually falls into the accounting department of most companies and may be done by a payroll company or in-house.
