What is What is the salary of an electrical engineer with a PhD and 2 yrs experience?

trying to evaluate a job offer from a seed-stage startup in silicon valley in communications. I have a relevant PhD from a top school and 2 years work experience (before i went back to school). What is the salary range? how about stock options?

The following shows the average starting salary offers for engineers by specialty and education, according to a 2005 survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers: Electrical/electronics and communications: Bachelors: $51,888 Masters: $64,416 PhD: $80,206 Variation in median earnings and in the earnings distributions for engineers in the various branches of engineering also is significant. here in central indiana, you'd probably start out at around $50,000/year with benefits. in california it's probably much higher.

Quants (PhD's in "mathy" type fields) make $125K-$150K to start in finance/NYC. I would expect CA to be less (since it is CA and it is not finance). So I would guess around $100K+options to start?
