How many hours are you required to rest between night shift and day shift?

Say you finish night shift at 3am and start day shift (same day) at 12.30pm is this enough rest in between each shift

Yes it is,the minimum time between shifts is 8 hours,this rule is being brought in by the Eu this year i believe.However i know my firm operate a quick change over once every 3 weeks that only has a 7 hour gap between shifts,and i work for a very large global factory that produces power cables.

yes because you have had at least 8 hours off. 8 countinuous hours of uninterrupted rest period is the legal minimum in UK. And you can only work a max of 16 hrs in ANY 24- hour period.

Yes, 8 hours usually is the minimum. However, a lot of people work 2 jobs or overtime and all that, and that isn't a question of 'the law' or anything like that. I work from 8am-4pm, then 4:30-10pm four days a week at two different jobs. Nobody cares if I've had enough time to rest or not.
