Where do I start to become a financial analyst?
Asked by Zeta Reticuli
Hello everyone. I just finished with a Bachelor's in International business and Finance (Double major). I have no related work experience. Every position I see as a financial analyst says YEARS of experience needed. HOW and WHERE can I start entry-level and build this kind of experience?

See if you can find a place to intern. If you go for an MBA, by the end you'll have 2 years experience and an MBA, so you'll get a better job.

Get an MBA

Look for any type of entry level position with a company that deals with investments. You will need to be sponsrored in order to receive the necessary credentials. You will want to study for your series 6 and 7 exams, which are the basic requirements for the field. From there you may consider taking the CFA exam (chartered financial analyst). It is a 3 part exam which takes a minimum of 3 years to complete. If you don't have internships, or excellent grades from a respected university you will most likely need to start at the bottom and work your way up. The job market is great right now for grads, so take advantage.
