What all is required to work in a daycare?
Asked by ROCKER_CHICK
I am trying to get a job at a daycare. I really enjoy working with kids, I've been a dance teacher for about 4 years now, but it doesn't pay great. Anyways, I was wanting to work at a daycare until I'm finished with college. What all is required to work at a daycare in the state of Ohio? See, I am use to working with children and have plenty of experience from working at a dance studio, I just need to know legally, what all is required, and yes I have a clean record.

You need to take a child care and developement class, also CPR, you'll need a clean record report from the police (they'll need to fingerprint you),also a TB and AIDS test, and a genuine love for kids.

Patience, patience, patience! Prepare yourself, go to a relative's home and offer to babysit for a long time, say 5 or 6 hours. See how you like taking care of a little kid or two. You could volunteer at a local day care or hospital and find out what it about. By volunteering, you could also satisfy your state's mandate for volunteer work, if it has one. Good luck.
