Career Questions and Answers

Mike P
What career to choose in life. Skilled Trade vs. Higher Education such as Earning an MBA.?
Asked by Mike P
I'm 25 years old. I had a short career in acting and modeling with with very little earnings. I also graduated college with a Bachelors Degree in Business, and also graduated Bartending School earning a license. Yes, I bartend part-time. I've had a few job prospects in the Business Field, but I did not find them too promising.(70 hour work-week, minimum starting pay, etc.) However, I have chosen an alternative work field "Plumbing" which has paid me more money than I've ever made in any other field of work. I have a few friends who think I'm crazy, stupid, and not living up to my full potential because I work in field that is very labor-instensive, dirty, digusting, and negatively stereotyped. I generally have a 5 day work week with some overtime, and make anywhere from $600-$2,000 per week doing plumbing service work. Keep in mind that these friends that criticize me are still working on their MBAs, still live off their parent's money, and do not have a regular income. Advice Please..

If you are up to more education, I read today that there is a shortage of engineers in our country!!
