Hi! Big difference...and big difference in pay. A technician just fixes existing systems. They normally specialize in one type of system..say...industrial computers or pc's..they may or may not deal with the networking stuff. Most companies have seperate people for the network...but not always. A engineer like yours truly designs subsystems or complete systems. Normally..software is not part of the deal..but sometimes may be..but that's pretty rare. I am a programmer only because I have to be sometimes..I do not enjoy it. I do this all for me..soo..I have no clue what "normal" people make $$$ wise, though.

An est makes less generally than an electrical engineer. And est usually is the person who goes to different sites to fix or maintain things. They're the ones who fix, install, maintain, alarm ssytems, cable hook ups, etc.

The engineer designed it. The technician built, tested, and maintained it. Engineers usually need twice the schooling as a technician, but usually makes twice the income.
