How do I become a UPS driver?

Was wondering what UPS looks for in a potential driver.
Also does having a degree help?

that i know of, UPS does not hire drivers right out. anyone entering the company is hired as a freight worker, loading and unloading trucks. after a few years of loading "dues" then you will be considered for a driving position
have a few friends and relatives that work for UPS

You need to know how to drive a stick shift car. Check out their website it tells you when they are hiring.

Yes having a degree helps. Your best bet is to start at the bottom like everyone else at UPS. loading trucks in the middle of the night. I knoe of a young man who did that out of High school and 3 years later he is going to school on UPS. and when he graduates he will be a driver then he will move into management. A great company to work for.

UPS looks for someone reliable, with a good driving record who can pass a commercial driving test and who can carry up to 50 lbs (packages, eh?). I do not believe they require any sort of degree but you will have to be able to read well.
