If my employer pays for me to take a fork lift drivers test, to whom does the certificate belong?

There is not a straightforward answer to this.
The qualification belongs to you 'de facto' because it applies only to you. The physical certificate could however be said to belong to the party who paid for it.
The easiest way to deal with this is to obtain a copy of the certificate from the issuing authority!...and keep quiet about it!

It really belongs to you. You are the one who took the test. It doesn't matter who paid for it.

The licence will belong to you.Your employer may want you to sign a contract binding you to them for a period of time. They will want their moneys worth.

It belongs to you...any license or certificate that you get is always yours...it just makes it all the much better when someone else fronts the bill.........

The certificate belongs to you. There is a lot of restrictions that the employer can put on your use of the certificate but the certificate is issued only to you.

Usually employers only want paid if you leave not long after getting the license, to cover their outlay I'd imagine as the licence would be in your name.

the licence is yours while you work for the company when you leave the company you have to hand the licence back my husband has just done it good luck .

it will be yours but if your employer states you must serve a term of employment you will have to pay for it if you leave early.thats only fair.
