How do i make my work desk look nice modern and organized?

I am starting new job. I want to give a modern look to my desk ( work area ) any useful links or pictures? Any ideas?

Dont scvatter papers or penss.
get little baskets for pens/pencils.
baskets for papers the ones made for paper though..
if you have a laptop dont let the wires scatter everywhere and dont put TOO many pics..
cuz ive seen my teachers and DANG they someties have them on the wall and dang it looks bad..
put little decorations..
be creative and yourself :]

They will have many useful organizational items you could use. (Or you could look at their pictures and do something similar for less.) I recommend a sleek metal inbox/outbox.
