Kidest B
I work for a secretarial agnecy. How can I threat my client?
Asked by Kidest B
An important client telephones to say he is going abroad the next day for a few days, and that he would like to come to the Agency to dictate a few letters before he goes. He does not arrive until 5 p.m. I take him in to the room where clients dictate their work. He does not begin dictating at once but talks to me about his trip. It is a rule of the Agency that staff may not work after 6 p.m. At 6 p.m. Hellen one of junior typists, has a long journey home. I know that but, I do not want to offend the client. what shall I do?

Best Answer:
1st things first, ask Helen if she's could stay in longer for that one day if she can't is there a possibility of tape recording the client

A:
Well, first of your question should be properly rephrased, you want advice on treating your client and not threatening him! OK, if you can handle the dictation and type, do it so that the junior typist need not stay back and your client is not offended. And it that is not possible, ask another typist to stay back and oblige. If there is no provision for paying them overtime, may be you can compensate in a different way. and your agency should have better rules than that. If all the above solutions are not acceptable, you should impress upon the client that he needs to finish his work before 6 p.m. when he first telephoned.
