LOTS OF HARD STUDYING - and long college days. Seriously, talk to your science teacher and explain what you are telling us. I would say major in one and minor in the other. I had chemistry and physics in high school from a woman who had always taught college level classes and taught us the same way. You would be surprised how closely related they are, one building on the other. You will need excellent math skills and a love of reading and adventure because you will be doing a lot of studying and experimenting. I loved both classes, but physics is GREAT! You should be on a college track in high school taking algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus (if offered). You will also take biology, chemistry and physics. If you have an opportunity over the summer or in the last few days of school, call the high school and ask to speak with the science teacher(s) and try to set a time to visit after school. Let them know what you want to do and ask their advice. Also meet with your counselor in middle school (if you have one) and especially in high school. They can help guide you with studies, getting in early to find money for college and determining two or three colleges that might work for you (not everyone can - or wants to - go to MIT). If you start planning early - I'm sure you will achieve your goal. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

You should NEVER divulge your age or grade level here on the Internet (for starters), and secondly, you really need to speak with a high school counselor to help you prepare for what you need to take in high school. You are a bit too young to worry about what college you should go to. Perhaps you can do this (speak to a counselor) over the summer after you graduate from eighth grade. You might also want to speak with your parents, since they are the ones paying for your education.
