Teachers assistant rate. How much do TA's make?

whats the expectant salary of a teachers assistant in Chicago? i just received a job as a teacher's assistant at a preschool but the school hasnt given me a salary rate yet? do a teachers assistant need to set up a lesson plan usually?

I'm a teacher's assistant in Pennsylvania...small town. So I'm unsure if the salary is similar to in Chicago, but it's about $25,000/year. (That's working only 180 days.) I don't have to create the lesson plan, however I do help in planning along with the teacher...and do a lot of prep work for the lessons as well. It's a great job-- I love it! I hope you will also. wow thats good PA! the ones where i work make about $8.50 a hour for 7.5 hours/ day ( im in colorado ) thats for 180 days as well.
