What is the average salary for a CAD person?

What is the average salary a CAD person can expect to command in the UK - Midlands. I am asking this because of a work related issue. The person in question attended a one weeks introductory course to CAD - not including 3D. He completed a partial apprenticeship in engineering before being moved into the offices for whatever reasons. He has also attended an introductory course in Health and Safety. He has now had a position created for him as CAD / H&S person. What kind of salary should he expect to be earning ? He is employeed in the mechanical engineering sector. Genuine answers please

Not sure to be honest, its going to depend on experience, location and the company, may be areound £25,000 per annum.
