What will I be doing as a Pharmacy Technician?

I just recently got offered a job at the store I work at to become a Pharmacy Technician. Its a step up from what I am right now, so of course I took it. But what I want to know is, what sort of things will I be doing as a tech? i am well aware i may have to do "busy" work, but my ultimate goal is to go into pharmaceutical sales. why would i pass up an opportunity that could very well be good for me?

You will have to type the order into the computer, fill the bottle, place a label on the bottle, stocking, checking for expiration dates, answering phones, and that sort of thing.

Job duties vary store to store. It would make more sense to have asked the requirements before accepting, in case you don't like the rudimentary work, i.e., labeling bottles, etc.

According to the US Dept of Labor: Pharmacy technicians who work in retail or mail-order pharmacies have varying responsibilities, depending on State rules and regulations. Technicians receive written prescriptions or requests for prescription refills from patients. They also may receive prescriptions sent electronically from the doctor’s office. They must verify that the information on the prescription is complete and accurate. To prepare the prescription, technicians must retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix the medication. Then, they prepare the prescription labels, select the type of prescription container, and affix the prescription and auxiliary labels to the container. Once the prescription is filled, technicians price and file the prescription, which must be checked by a pharmacist before it is given to the patient. Technicians may establish and maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance claim forms, and stock and take inventory of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Good luck!
