CNA (nurse assistant) question??
Asked by .
When you get your CNA certificate, do you always have it or do you have to get it renewed after a certain amount of time by taking a test or something again? Any response would be very much appreciated!! Thank you.

It might depend on what state you are in and what the rules are but in Indiana you have to get it renewed. I know that your certification is good for two years (24 consecutive months) but you will need to keep it renewed during that time period by working one day (8 hours) in a nursing facility (nursing home, hospital, or state certified assisted living).
