Will a dismissed felony charge disqualify me from getting a parttime airport job with TSA?

I'm in the process of filling out the sf86, and it asks to list any charges or conviction of a felony offense and to "report information regardless of whether the record in your case has been 'sealed' or otherwise stricken from the court record". Will I be able to the required security clearance for the job????

Answer the SF-86 honestly and to the best of your knowledge. If the TSA has questions about your answers they will give you an opportunity to explain. But if you don't disclose something that they find out about, no amount of explaining will help. If you have any questions you can contact the hiring representative (usually a scheduling officer or HR representative) from your local TSA office. They are supposed to help you fill out the SF-86 if you have difficulties. Whatever you do, don't listen to the guy who responded in ALL CAPS. If you lie on an SF-86 and get hired and they subsequently find out, you'll get fired and be permanently inelligible for ANY Federal employment for the rest of your life. Screeners don't need (or get) security clearances. The SF-86 process for screeners is to establish a "public trust". If you lie and get the job and wind up getting promoted or transfer to a different agency to a fantastic position that requires a security clearance your career will be ruined because a real security clearance requires an investigation that can take 2 years to complete and they'll find out that you were charged...eventually. Whether or not you get this job the SF-86 you fill out now will follow you for the rest of your life. You don't want it to be a record of deceit.
