Currently taking GED courses, how do I list this on a resume?

I am helping my husband make a resume, and I am not sure how or if I should list an education section. He dropped out of school about 5 years ago in the 11th grade, and is currently taking GED courses (he just started). He expects to be finished with it in about 6 months. He is going to be applying for warehouse/forklift operator jobs that, for the most part, don't require a diploma/GED. He also has 1 year of relevant work experience and several years of other experience. Should I omit the education section? If not, what's the best way to list a GED in progress?

You always list things that you are 'improving'. If it isn't a requirement, there will be applicants that don't have a HS completion. If he has one, or is getting one, makes him look better. (If he had a Master's Degree he was working on, my advice might be different.) LOL Do his resume just like you did yours, only instead of 'date completed' put 'anticipated date of completion'. Encourage him to get an Associates Degree next. Good Luck!

i got a GED. my school was a continuation school. they said to just list it as you graduated. not sure if thats kosher though, but hardly ever does anyone want to see a diploma. almost never. from a college ya, but not from high school. you should probably just leave it out for now just thought of this: the GED is just a test. is he getting an adult ed diploma? with some of those you still take the GED but take courses too and earn a diploma if you score above a certain amount on the GED. i thought the GED was easy. i didn't get lower than 90% in any of the categories.

There should always be an extended comment section in regarding your personal profile,if you can type it in the education section also do that and Highlight it!!have a good day

Just lie, they will check his previous employer before they would ever check school. Just list the High school name and years attended. Don't give them the excuse to throw out his application. Let him tell them about pursuing his GED in the interview IF they even ask.

Just put out GED in place of his high school.
