What do you wear to an interview when its hot outside?
Asked by Gabrielle
What should I wear to a job interview when its really hot outside and still look professional and mature?

Best Answer:
Wear a blazer with a shell underneath it, then take the jacket off after you leave the building and get to your car.

I think it depends on the type of interview, but you want to dress a step above the average of what people wear to that place of employment. For instance, I went to a 2nd hand store and bought several suits for professional level interviews. Some of them are for summer wear. (Based on your name, I'm assuming you're female) What I would recommend is to wear a lightweight blazer and slacks with a shell top. That makes it look professional but yet not too hot.

Wear a business suit, but get a skirt instead of the pants. Wear a tanktop underneath the jacket, that way once you step oustide of the office after the interview, you can take off the jacket. You want to look professional, and the skirt will be the ticket. You can find these at Dillards, and JC Pennys, even Kohls will sometimes have them. Good luck on your interview!!

Gabrielle, I had this problem once. There was a heat wave going on one week. I went to one interview and was soaked because I didn't have air conditioning in my car. So, for the next interview I called the manager and asked if I could go in a golf shirt and shorts. He said "LOL!! No problem!" It was that stinking hot he knew! -- Liam
