one of my friends wants to get his degree in criminal justice with a concentratin in law enforcement,?

he wants to become a police officer, but i told him to major in somthing else because their going to teach you the same thing in the academy. am i right or wrong?

Yes, you are wrong. He will have more opportunities with what he's doing... could become a prosecutor, Attorney General, even a governor and the President of the USA.

Yeah, you are sorta wrong, but that's okay. With his degree, he will have more opportunities that require textbook knowledge. He will have a greater chance at deciding on several occupations in his field (i.e. probation officer, state trooper, loss prevention director, etc. Support his choice to major in his chosen field. His knowledge that he gained from college will also help him in understanding the terminology and practices of the field before just getting thrown into it. I wish the best of you the best.
