How do I become an apartment manager?

I want to become an apartment manager. I don't have any experience or education with anything having to do with being an apartment manager. What experience or education do I need? How do I get it?

All the ones I've ever met have had tons of hands-on experience and tend to be older (50s at least). Other than that it probably varies with the owners of the complex. Some want someone with some business experience while others don't seem to care as much. Call to find out.
