Would it be OK to use an alias (name) for an online resume?
Asked by A M
I would tell the potential employer my "real" name at the interview. But I don't like putting all that info online. Plus I don't want to get fired from my current job. Has anyone done this? How did it work out?

You can either hide your personal information, supply a Yahoo! email address as the only contact info, or keep your resume private (use it for applying for jobs only). If you use an alias, you would need to explain why, and that would not look good.

I wouldn't suggest it. Maybe don't post your resume in places you can't "hide from current employer." If you want to apply for jobs, turn them in specifically to each company and ask them not to call your current company at this time. They should understand, but will not understand your hiding your real name from them.
