how are correctional officers pay in the state of Texas determined?

I need to find how the state of Texas determines the pay of correctional officers. Can anyone help me? Or at least refer me to a web site?

It depends on if you work for a county (sheriff) jail, or city, or if you go into the prison system, which they all pay different. There's state prison (texas), then you have private prisons. The counties,,well, depends on the county, pay range from $8 to $15/hr, city is about the same, the prison, state of texas, ranges $11/hr and up depending on your job title,,,more rank, more years, = more pay,,as for all these I'm stating,,,then the private prisons, I know of one that pays about $6/hr , then I know of some that start you out at $15/hr. I know this as I've worked as a correctional officer in a jail, and my husband has worked in these jobs for 15 yrs.
