How much money can a new artist get in their first advance check?

I was just wondering what the maximum amount a new artist can receive in their first advance check. I think an advance comes before the release of their EP. Thanks in advance for your help

it depends.. but that is usualy the money that lots of "drop in the pan" acts use to GO BANKRUPT!
