How do I get a job as a nanny without paying an agent first?
Asked by Mwalanjo Naa
I want to work as a nanny but almost all the agents says I pay first! Why can't they find me a job first and when I start working I can pay them. Where do I get the money when I do not work?

As a nanny, you should NOT have to pay to be placed! Use online resources. Here are a few to try:
enannysource.com
4nannies.com
nannies4hire.com
greataupair.com
shiningstarnannies.com
Most nannies that I know have used one of those resources, I'd try them before going to a placement agency and I would NOT use one that was going to make me pay for them to place me.

Craigs List is one of the most useful sites out there for all things jobs.
Just go to http://craigslist.org and look for the city you want to work in and either search current job openings or post your resume.

Advertise in the newspaper, send flyers in the neighbourhood, thru recommendations by telling your friends, relatives and neighbours that you intend to work as a nanny. Hence, no agent fee is required.

Well, I do not know your situation at the moment, but if you are living in the Phillipines and want a job abroad I am afraid that is the route to take. However, if you know someone from the US or Canada that knows of anyone that wants a nanny, try connecting with them to sponsor you and work for them directly, that way you do not have to pay the agency fee.
