What are jobs involving social work and children?

I'm planning to change my major to Social work and minor in child and adolescent development.

You can become a school counselor or do hospital social work. There are other non profit organizations that you could work for like Catholic Charities, Women's Shelters, etc. You can also work for a Juvenile Delinquency center or become a probation officer. You could always work for DCFS for a little bit, but if you don't want to do any of these then talk with your academic adviser about what it is that you want to do. They should be able to give you some ideas.

Get some experience working as a teacher's aide, for Pre-k or Kindergarten, this will help you in your career change.

Social Workers are needed in hospitals, children's hosptals, and mental health facilities.
All states have some form of a department of health and human services and they require social workers.

your government departments taking care of social work

With a BSW and Child Care you can get a job in adoptions, foster care, child protective, in a youth development program (Y, B&G, etc.) prevention/intervention program for youth at risk, head start program. DA
