How much does a Pharmacy Technician make?
Asked by ibwi20
I was just wondering how much a pharmacy technician was earning in a year.

It depends on what city and state and it also depends on where you work. Retail pharmacy technicians (like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc.) don't make very much compared to technicians that work in a hospital. I have been a pharmacy technician for almost 5 years now. I work in a hospital pharmacy and I'm the Pyxis administrator for my hospital (I'm only 21!). A pyxis machine holds all the medications (tablets, oral suspensions, IV fluid, etc). I make $16.70 an hour and I get a raise every year. I work with a technician that has been at my hospital for 30 years. She won't tell me exactly how much she makes but she said it's over $20 a hour.
Personal experience.

Depends on your state. Ohio starts about 12 per hour but you will end up working weekends and holidays.
