I recently retired from 30 years employment for Target. I spent quite a few of those in Human Resources. When I interviewed, it didn't matter whether you were wearing a skirt or slacks, but leave the jeans at home and make sure you are dressed neatly and that you are crisp. This means not too dressy or too casual. Cleanliness is number one. Clean hands, face, no radical nail polish, and if you wear a skirt make sure its a conservative length. No bare bellies!
Hair brushed or combed and not interferring with your face {swooping over your eyes, standing on end, etc.} If you have body piercings, cover them or do not wear jewelry except in your ears.
Mostly, have a clean and sparkling personality to match your clean and sparkling exterior.
If you have children...LEAVE THEM AT HOME! You will not be able to take them to work, so don't take them to the job interview. BIG red flags when I interviewed someone. You would be suprised at how many applicants drag their toddlers and babies into a job interview. You can't bring them to work, so be a smart cookie and find a sitter for the interview.
SMILE SMILE SMILE SMILE Retail work is all about interacting with the public. Show them that you are comfortable working with the public by smiling under pressure.
After your interview, thank your interviewer for their time, and once again smile and make your exit. If you do not hear back from them in the time frame they stated, by all means, follow up, but do not go overboard and hound them about making a decision. If they were impressed by your interview, they will either hire you or put you on a call back status when something opens up. Your applicaton will stay on top of the heap for 30 days if they are really interested in hiring you.
Most importantly...relax and be yourself.
Hope this helps!

Either would work, just make sure that the skirt is not too short and that your top/blouse is not too low cut if you are wearing a skirt or that you're not wearing low rider trousers as you want to look professional.

Dress in something you'd wear to church. A nice pair of dress slacks & a nice top would be nice or a skirt & top.

My boyfriend is a manager at Walmart. He said that it really doesn't matter. It also depends on what you're interviewing for.... I would say wear the pants.

Apply at a Pizza place and work your way up to assistant manager. It will be more rewarding. I have been told that wallmart has made their fortune partially by paying their workforce next to nothing.

You should wear a nice blouse and some nice slacks. The shoes should be flats. Your make up should be very light. Also, wear a bra.
