Whats a good way to find a babysitting job?
Asked by sweet_babie
Where can I find a babysitting job in the area? I tried the newspaper but didn't have any luck :(. I'm getting ready to get another job, and I would love to work at a daycare, so before I do that I want a few babysitting jobs to help me out some. I'm a dance teacher as well, and I work with children a lot. So where should I look to get babysitting jobs.

Coming from a mom looking for babysitters - me, I would hang out at a park this weekend if its nice, where younger kids are playing. First talk to some people you've sat for, and see if they will be your reference. Then introduce yourself to the parents at the park and tell them you have references also. Tell them exactly what you said here. Parents are leary about just calling someone they've never met. We love references and to have met you first. Also post this same thing on the parenting answers section - you'll probably get good ideas there.

If you go to church, maybe you can put an ad in the church bulletin. Otherwise, do your parents work w/people who have children? Maybe they can offer your services to their co-workers.
